1. Who We Are

Swappy ("we", "us", "our") is a free community platform that helps learner drivers swap their DVSA practical driving test dates with each other.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the service:

• Account information: Your email address and display name when you create an account.
• Listing information: Test centre, test date, test time, swap preferences, and DVSA call availability that you choose to share.
• DVSA booking reference: If you choose to enter it when proposing or accepting a swap. This is required by DVSA to complete the swap call.
• Phone number: Only if you subscribe to Premium and opt in to the 3-way calling feature.
• Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Usage data: Pages visited (anonymised) to help us improve the service.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To display your test swap listing to other users on the platform.
• To facilitate swap proposals, negotiations, and call scheduling between matched users.
• To send you email notifications about proposals, swap updates, and listing alerts you've opted into.
• To process Premium subscription payments via Stripe.
• To improve and maintain the platform.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We share data only when necessary to provide the service:

• Other Swappy users: Your test centre, date, time, and username are visible on your listing. Email addresses are only shared with matched swap partners.
• DVSA booking references: When a swap is agreed, your booking reference is shared with the matched learner who is making the DVSA call. They need this to complete the swap on the phone with DVSA. It is never shared until both parties have agreed to the swap, and is never shown publicly.
• Stripe: For payment processing (Premium subscriptions).
• Telephony provider: For automated 3-way calling (Premium feature only — your phone number is used solely to place the call).

We do not sell your data to any third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data only for as long as needed. Listing data is removed when you delete your listing or account. You can request full account deletion at any time from the Settings page, which removes all your personal data from our systems.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of your personal data.
• Rectification — Correct inaccurate data via your Settings page.
• Erasure — Delete your account and all associated data.
• Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — Object to processing of your data.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are managed by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure.

9. Children

Swappy is intended for users aged 17 and over (the minimum age to take a UK driving test). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
