Know exactly where you can swap to
From 9 June 2026, the DVSA restricts swaps to your 3 nearest test centres. Swappy maps every UK centre — pick yours below to see your options instantly.

Using a bot or cancellation app? DVSA is freezing accounts.
The DVSA is actively detecting "unusual activity" from bots and automated cancellation checkers — and placing booking review markers on learners' licences. This blocks you from booking, changing, or cancelling your test online. Some learners have even had their test cancelled outright, with no refund.

A real learner's letter — name redacted. The DVSA is sending these out every week.
If DVSA detects a bot on your licence:
Your online DVSA account is frozen
No more booking, changing, or cancelling tests online. You have to phone DVSA every time.
Your test can be cancelled — with no refund
DVSA reserves the right to cancel any test booked or moved using automated tools. You lose the £62–£75 fee.
Booking review marker on your licence number
A permanent flag that affects future bookings. It can take weeks of phone calls to clear.
From June 2026 — even harsher rules
New DVSA rules ban third-party booking entirely. Only the learner can book or change a test — bots are explicitly illegal.
The Safe, Legal Alternative
Swappy is pupil-to-pupil only — zero bots, zero risk.
Swappy doesn't touch the DVSA system. We just connect two real learners who both want each other's test slot — then you call DVSA yourselves to swap. It's exactly how the DVSA wants you to do it, and exactly what the new 2026 rules allow.
No automation — every swap is real human-to-human
No access to your DVSA account or licence number
Fully DVSA-compliant — even after June 2026
No risk of cancelled tests or frozen accounts

ADIs & Pupils — Connected by Swappy
Totally optional and off by default — either the pupil or the instructor can start the connection. When linked, you both benefit.
For Pupils
Invite your instructor from Settings → "My Driving Instructor". Once they accept, you'll automatically get a smarter, filtered swap experience.
- Your ADI filters out bad swap dates so you don't waste time
- Only see tests after you're actually test-ready
- Your instructor stays informed — no surprise phone calls
For Instructors
Create a free ADI account and invite your pupils. You'll get a dashboard showing all their tests and full control over their swap availability.
- See every pupil's current test date and centre at a glance
- Block holidays and other commitments so pupils can't swap to those days
- Set when each pupil is ready — they won't see swaps before that date
How the connection works
Either party sends an invite — pupil or ADI
The other accepts (totally optional)
ADI sets test-readiness dates & blackouts
Pupil only sees swaps their ADI approves
Your Pupils Are Swapping Tests
New DVSA rules mean learners manage their own bookings. Swappy's free ADI tools give you back control — block out your holidays, set readiness gates, and see every test date at a glance.
Why Should You Register?
New Rules Mean Less Control
From 12 May 2026, only the learner can book or change their own test. Instructors can no longer manage bookings on their behalf. Swappy gives you back visibility.
Pupils Are Already Swapping
Learners are finding earlier test dates by swapping with others. Without Swappy, you'd have no idea when their test date changes — or if it clashes with your schedule.
Protect Your Business
A pupil swapping to a day you're on holiday or booked with another pupil could cost you a lesson slot. Swappy's blackout system prevents that.
What You Get — 100% Free
Live Pupil Dashboard
See every linked pupil's test date, time, and centre in one place. Know instantly when something changes.
Holiday & Blackout Dates
Block out your holidays, other pupil tests, or any dates you're unavailable. Linked pupils won't see swap options on those days.
Weekly Availability Hours
Set recurring weekly time blocks (e.g. 'Not before 9am on Mondays'). Pupils only see swaps that fit your teaching schedule.
Test-Readiness Gates
Set a 'first allowed test date' per pupil. They won't see any swaps before the date you choose — ensuring they only test when they're actually ready.
Activity Notifications
Get notified when a pupil lists their test, receives a swap proposal, or completes a swap. Stay informed without micromanaging.
Easy Pupil Connection
Either you or the pupil can start the connection. Send an invite from your ADI Portal or have the pupil invite you from their Settings page.

Your Privacy, Our Priority
This platform is designed from the ground up to be GDPR compliant. We collect only the minimum data needed to coordinate your swap.
Minimal Personal Data
We only collect your email and phone number for swap coordination and alerts. We never ask for your name, driving licence number, or any other personal details. Once you've agreed a swap, the only thing the caller needs from the other party is their DVSA booking reference number — nothing else.
Auto-Deletion
Listings are automatically removed once marked as completed or cancelled. No data lingers.
DVSA Compliant
All swaps happen through the official DVSA phone line (0300 200 1122). We simply help you find a match.
Full Data Control
View, edit, or permanently delete all your data at any time from Settings. Your account, your control.
How the DVSA Swap Call Works
Once you've found a match in our community database, the DVSA call is simple. One of you calls — DVSA then phones the other learner separately to confirm.
Official DVSA Process (from 12 May 2026)
Only one of you needs to call DVSA. You give them the other learner's booking reference number, and DVSA will phone that learner separately on the number recorded against their booking. You both need to be available at the same time, but you don't need to be on the same call. Never share your provisional licence number or personal details with the other learner.

What to Have Ready for the Call
Required for both Candidate A and Candidate B
The DVSA agent will normally ask for at least two of these per person (most agents ask for all three for verification):
- 1Provisional driving licence number — the long number on the front of the licence
- 2Driving test booking reference number — the 16-digit reference from the booking confirmation email/letter
- 3Theory test pass certificate number — as a backup if the booking reference is missing
Additional details they often request
- Full name (as it appears on the licence)
- Full postal address
- Current test date, time & centre for both tests
- Contact phone number (for confirmation)
Once they have verified both sets of details, the agent can manually swap the two appointments in their system.
Important: Both candidates need to consent. After the first call, DVSA will phone the other learner separately on the number recorded against their booking — so make sure both of you have the right phone number on your DVSA bookings.
Quick Tips
- Do this well in advance — the earlier the better
- It counts as one of your 2 allowed changes (from 31 March 2026)
- DVSA lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm
