Book at 6:00am Monday Morning
The DVSA releases new test slots early on Monday mornings. Set an alarm and check the booking site at exactly 6am for the best selection of new dates.
Avoid September–January
These are peak months as learners rush to pass before winter and Christmas. The quietest months tend to be February, March, and mid-summer.
Weekday Morning Tests Fill Last
Most people prefer afternoon or weekend slots. If you're flexible, weekday mornings (especially Tuesday–Thursday) often have more availability.
Check for Cancellations at Night
Other learners often cancel tests in the evening after deciding to postpone. Check the DVSA site between 8pm-10pm for freshly released slots.
Book 6+ Months Ahead
Test slots open approximately 24 weeks in advance. If you book the maximum time ahead, you'll have the widest choice of dates and centres.
