What Information Do You Need to Swap a Driving Test? Just 3 Things

Swapping a driving test date with another learner is simpler than most people expect — and it requires far less information than booking one.

The complete list

To list a swap on Swappy you enter your test date, test time and test centre, plus the date range you'd prefer instead. That's the entire list. No licence number, no booking reference, no address.

What the other learner sees

Your swap partner sees exactly what you see about them: date, time, centre and a display name. Neither of you ever needs the other person's personal information — because neither of you touches the other person's booking. Each learner speaks to DVSA about their own booking only.

What DVSA asks for on the call

When you phone DVSA's official line (0300 200 1122), the agent will verify your identity against your own booking — typically your booking reference and licence details. This happens directly between you and DVSA, the same as any booking change. Swappy is never part of that conversation and never holds that data.

Why minimal data is a feature, not a limitation

Because Swappy holds only the details printed on a test confirmation's front page, there is nothing sensitive to leak, sell, or misuse. It's the same principle security experts call data minimisation — collect only what the task genuinely requires.

Swap your test the safe, official way

Only your test date, time and centre are needed — no personal details, no bots, just the official DVSA phone line.
