A Parent's Guide to Swappy: Is It Safe for My Teenager?
Straight answers to the questions parents actually ask before their teenager uses a test swap platform.
"What information will they hand over?"
An email to log in, a display name, and their test's date, time and centre. No licence number, no booking reference, no address, no date of birth — at any stage.
"Will strangers be able to contact them?"
Only through Swappy's built-in messaging, under display names. Phone numbers and emails are only shared if both people explicitly choose to — and it's never required to complete a swap.
"Is there any money involved between users?"
No. Learners never pay each other — that removes the entire category of "send me £30 and I'll give you my slot" scams seen in Facebook groups. Swappy's optional premium plan is paid to Swappy via Stripe, like any normal subscription.
"Could their test booking be put at risk?"
No. The only way a booking changes is your teenager phoning DVSA themselves, passing DVSA's own identity checks. Swappy has no access to the DVSA system, uses no bots, and enforces DVSA's swap rules so every proposed exchange is one DVSA will accept.
