What Documents Do You Need for Your Driving Test?

Forget the right document and your test is cancelled — no refund. Here's exactly what to bring.

Your provisional driving licence (photocard)

Must be valid and not expired. Check the expiry date now — they expire every 10 years. If expired, renew at gov.uk (allow 3 weeks).

Your theory test pass certificate number

You don't need to bring the physical certificate — the examiner can look it up. But knowing the number speeds things up.

What you DON'T need

  • • Your booking confirmation email (helpful but not required)
  • • Your passport or any other photo ID
