Private Practice vs Lessons Only
Supplementing lessons with private practice can cut your learning time by 40%. Here are the rules.
Rules for Private Practice
- You must have a valid provisional driving licence
- Your supervising driver must be 21+ and held a full licence for 3+ years
- The car must be insured for you as a learner driver
- L-plates (D-plates in Wales) must be displayed front and rear
- You cannot drive on motorways (even with a supervisor)
Don't pick up bad habits
Your supervising driver may have habits that would fail you on test (e.g. one-handed steering, coasting). Stick to what your instructor teaches.
